Each month Gather by D'Amico invites a guest chef to bring their culinary magic to the guests of our restaurant. We have had many award winning chefs that have been nationally recognized for their creativity and ingenuity. Take a moment and peruse a bit of our culinary history.
Isaac Becker and his wife and business partner, Nancy St. Pierre, met while both worked at D'Amico Cucina from 1994 to 1996. Becker cooked at D'Amico Cucina and Café and Bar Lurcat from 1994 to 2005 before opening 112 Eatery with St. Pierre to critical acclaim in The New York Times, Food and Wine, and Bon Appétit. Becker opened Bar La Grassa in 2009 and Bon Appétit quickly named it one of the "top 10 best new restaurants" in the country. 112 Eatery is a bistro-style restaurant and Bar La Grassa is an Italian restaurant, both featuring bright, flavorful, forward-thinking, yet accessible, well-executed cuisine.
Becker was awarded the James Beard Best Chef of the Midwest award in May 2011 after four consecutive nominations.
